The Living Circle – A Swiss Luxury Hotel Group Intertwined with Nature

The most beautiful locations, run by passionate hosts, with products from their own local farms served directly to the table – the new definition of luxury that The Living Circle is bringing to its distinguished clientele.

In collaboration with The Living Circle, we had the opportunity of exploring two of their hotels. Our stay began at the ALEX Lake Zurich, situated on the tranquil shores of Lake Zurich in Thalwil.

Entrance to the ALEX Lake Zurich

The five-star hotel was designed by architects Marazzi + Paul Architekten AG and British interior design studio BradyWilliams and was opened in summer 2019. The style is a blend of elegant hand-crafted furniture and modern, neutral shades, leading the eye to the beautiful nature surrounding each suite.

Our stunning Penthouse Suite

Our favorite features: the direct location on the lake and the modern-luxurious interior. The 44 studios and penthouses with their own kitchens are also ideal for longer stays thanks to the spacious living experience – something we definitely wouldn’t say no to!

Lobby and indoor dining area

The hotel spa with sauna, steam room and vitality pool as well as massages and treatments create a space for relaxation and recreation. And if you need to cool down afterwards, a quick dip in Lake Zurich will do the trick!

Our spa experience was followed by a cocktail by the bar (check out the cool design below) and an amazing farm-to-table dinner with a view of the sunset on Lake Zurich. A truly perfect day.

The next morning – after a beautiful breakfast on the sunny terrace, the ALEX hotel boat captain took us across Lake Zurich, pointing out hidden spots by the shores and telling us fun stories from his past trips. Enjoying a sip of champagne on the front deck, we enjoyed the sound of the water and the early Spring sun. Even though it was just a short ride, we arrived at the other side of the lake feeling like we had just come back from a mediterranean getaway.

Our luggage ready to be checked in to the Storchen Hotel

After a warm welcome at the Storchen Hotel, our luggage is taken up to our room with the elevator while we take the stairs for a chance to discover the art and decor of the hotel on our way up. The entire place has an old-glamour vibe, and even the stairs themselves are worth a picture

Once we arrived at our room, the first thing that caught our eye was the beautifully designed walk-in closet an beautiful view from our balcony. We couldn’t wait to get up to the rooftop to discover more of this luxurious hotel!

Stunning views and a double rainbow greeted us at The Storchen

The views from the rooftop restaurant & bar were even better than the one from our room, and we let our more than perfect day end by a glass of Pinot Grigrio and some snacks (all locally farmed of course!).

The next morning, we freshened up in our stunning marble bathroom and headed to breakfast. We were served an array of locally farmed cheeses, eggs and meats as well as an amazing assortment of fruits and breads. We love how much you can really taste the difference when food is fresh from the farm, and that is definitely something we will be back for!

Thank you to The Living Circle, The Storchen Hotel and The ALEX Lake Zurich marketing team and hotel staff but an unforgettable experience and for your efforts in supporting conscious luxury!
